Projects
MixedFoto Album
I finally got fed up with the limitations of Flickr — especially if you do not shell out $25/yr for the Pro account–so I decided to build my own in PHP/MySQL. Currently in active development, I am hoping to open up “mixedfoto” to the masses by the end of September ‘09.
To try out the beta, go to www.mixedfoto.com
Features will include:
- multi-file upload
- inline title and caption editing
- built-in support for EXIF data
- ajax commenting system using jQuery
- custom CSS implimentation
- built-in lightbox effect for easy thumbnail view.
MySQL Bookshelf
I have been wanting to make an easy-to-administer digital web bookshelf for quite a while now. Delicious Library was a great concept and a good piece of software, but it is not a web application. To my surprise, I discovered the Delicious Library SQL Exporter on macupdate.com… allowing me to get all my Delicious information into a pre-built SQL database.
A few hours later… with some custom graphics, CSS, and PHP… I was able to get the information from the database to display nicely on the web. If you want to play around with the files/code… click the graphic or visit this link. (requires safari/ to render perfectly)
MySQL CD Library
Sure, this is alot like the bookshelf, but I took the opportunity to learn jquery and even impliment some AJAX. Although still in development, it at least gives you a sense of my musical tastes.
VOIAC.org
Voiac.org is a database-driven site built from the ground up to document and catalogue victims of illegal immigration. Designed almost entirely with CSS, the VOIAC site was designed around SPEED and SIMPLICITY. This site can store over 40 separately-searchable pieces of information for every victim which required a custom-built, robust and secure back-end system.
Website Designs
Here are a few sample designs I did for my friend’s law firm: MaHaffe & Assoc.

This blog is actually a custom-designed wordpress theme.

Here is an older version of my blog, with a custom wood-based theme.
I entered a re-design contest for the macuser.com website. I didn’t win, but it was fun to think of a non-traditional but clean user-interface.

Here is a site I designed for the Center for Security Policy back in ‘06.
‘Campfire’ Video-conferencing & Training
As an Undergraduate student, I worked for the dean of my college as a web technician for the Digital Media Research Group. We developed a video-conferencing application in Macromedia Flash that allows viewers to provide live feedback on instructor performance. I became a certified expert in flash action-script (although have sense fallen a bit behind!)
Multimedia training application
In my advanced interactive multimedia class, our project was to create a web-based training application in Macromedia Flash. The following web application is merely a construct; it loads separate swf, mp3, and txt files for each chapter in the tutorial… making this an incredibly flexible training app. It was originally designed to run off a CD, so I have not gotten around to building pre-loaders into this version. You can still check it out here.
