  2. um… so long as you are willing for things to get broken in the process…

    The point of the article is that when the lenders were operating persuant to MARKET indica. When they did this, they were able to make sound business decisions and continue to provide loans. When CONGRESS started DICTATING how lenders should behave (i.e. MANAGING)… the system fell apart.

    So… I don’t see how you conclude that management is an improvement… it was THE CAUSE of the problem.

    Management is OK… just not by CONGRESS. Every time they try to “fix” the market… they cause another problem in the place of the problem they “fixed”. This is a perfect example of the law of un-intended consequences. Congress causes a cricis and then takes no responsibility for doing so… and then postures themselves as the “problem-solvers”… riiight.
